Lucet A lucet is a tool used in cord making or braiding which is believed to date back to the Medieval period, when it was utilized to create cords that were used on clothing, or to hang useful items from the belt. There are two different types of cording you can make with a lucet. One is square, strong, and slightly springy the other is a looser cord and they are made with two different methods both simple enough to even teach to a child. You’ll use it for baby-booty laces, color-coordinated drawstrings, simple braided bracelets. these lucets are hand made and easy and fun to learn to use with any of your yarn or cord. Place your ball of yarn on the shaft of the Wool Tree and pull from the outside of the ball. It will unwind easily as you knit eliminating constant tugging at your yarn. This newer wool tree has a yarn guide that you can move up or down depending on where you like your tensions and the yarn can easily by removed form the guide if needed while you are working by slipping the yarn between the coils.
